Avid knitter, crocheter, and friend of the shop, Angie, started dyeing yarn in 2016 to further her fiber addiction. Over the past few years, she has continued to dye gorgeous colorways and has even created an exclusive colorway for our shop! Recently, Angie has announced that she will only be dyeing wholesale and we are so thankful that we are one of the few shops that will be carrying her yarn.

In the Spring of 2013 Trailhead Yarns was created and started selling hand-dyed Canadian wool. In 2016 a life changing wool allergy had Samantha looking for non-wool options and realised the lack of quality options. The new mission for Trailhead Yarns was created. To provide beautiful hand-dyed yarns for those with allergies, living in warmer climates, wanting wash and wear as well as vegan yarns. .

In 2010 Peace Fleece purchased its first native Rambouillet wool from the Cook Ranch on South Dakota’s Cheyenne River Reservation, beginning the journey of learning what happened to these Native American tribes a century and a half ago. The following year Peace Fleece visited the Navajo Nation in Arizona and New Mexico and met with native ranchers to learn how it might assist them in the production and marketing of their wool.
Peace Fleece continues to work alongside the Navajo Nation, spinning wool with meaning and producing lines of worsted & DK weight yarns, along with fleece and knitting needles.

In business since 2008, Unplanned Peacock Studio is a hand dyeing studio located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, in the tiny town of Ferrum. Natasha Laity Snyder is the primary artisan who dyes all the yarn. She has a degree in costume design, which translates perfectly to the business of making gorgeous supplies for fiber artists. Natasha and her husband, Mark, also have a spoiled flock of Icelandic sheep, parrots, cats, dogs, chickens, and a peacock who was indeed, unplanned.
